Requirement for Radiotherapy Facilities:

Measurable components in Radiation Oncology

Equipment :Teletherapy, Brachytherapy, Simulator, Treatment Planning System (TPS) Mould Room tools and Physics Accessories safety and Quality assurance (Dosimeters, Chambers, Survey Meters, Phantoms)

Personnel : Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, Dosimetrist, RT Technologist

✅  

Logistics : Quality Assurance (QA) and inter-disciplinary co-operation

The set-up for radiotherapy facilities may be planned either as basic facilities or Optimal. Other additional facilities may be added as per requirement and funds available. Preferably all may be connected through networking and having tele-medicine/tele-consultation/virtual classroom/tele-radiotherapy planning facilities.

  
(A) BASIC FACILITIES
Should be able to provide services to > 80% of standard common cases seen in India
Taluka and District places
Centers may share resources between adjacent institutions

1 Teletherapy unit with or without MLC, beam modifiers

Brachytherapy (may be shared with adjacent centers)
1 remote high-dose rate brachytherapy unit
Planning / Verification (Accessories for safety minimum Quality Assurance)
