A number of interventional procedures such as Percutaneous Nephrostomy, Stending, Percutaneous transhepatic billiary drainage, tumour embolization and coeliac plexus blocks are carried out in the department to assist in the management of cancer patients, and for relief of pain and other symptoms.

A large number of fine needle biopsies and aspirations are performed from deep seated tumours under ultrasound, CT or fluoroscopic guidance to provide material for cytological or histopathological diagnosis.
