Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH & RC), New Chandigarh, Punjab is a unit of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and a Grant-In-Aid Institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh is affiliated as an Off-Campus Centre (OCC) of theHomi Bhabha National Institute (A Deemed to be University).

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the following tenured post (Non-Permanent) for 02 Year HBNI Certified Fellowship in various Medical Departments for HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh, Punjab commencing from 01.08.2026 as follows:

Eligibility Criteria:

	GASTROENTEROLOGY AND HPB ONCOLOGY- 01 Post	M.Ch/DNB (Surgical Gastroenterology) ORM.Ch/DNB(Surgical Oncology) OR MS (General Surgery)   1- year relevant experience will be preferred.
	HAEMATO ONCOLOGY	DM (Medical Oncology) / DM (Haematology) OR MD (Medicine) / MD (Pediatric).   1- year relevant experience will be preferred.
	NUCLEAR THERANOSTICS- 01 Post	MD/DNB in Nuclear Medicine.   1- year relevant experience will be preferred.
	ORTHOPEDIC ONCOLOGY - 01 Post	MS/DNB (Orthopedics).   1- year relevant experience will be preferred.
	THORACIC ONCOLOGY- 01 Post	M.Ch/DNB Surgical Oncology/DNB (Thoracic Surgery)OR MS (General Surgery)   1- year relevant experience will be preferred.
	HEAD & NECK ONCOLOGY- 01 Post	M.S (General Surgery/E.N.T) or equivalent PG degree.   1-year relevant experience will be preferred.
	PLASTIC       & RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY 01 Post	M.Ch/ DrNB (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery) or MS (General Surgery)   Year relevant experience will be preferred.

 

General Conditions:

1. The tenure of the fellowship will be for 02 (Two) years w.e.f 1^st August 2026.

 

2. It will be certified fellowship recognized by Homi Bhabha National Institute (Deemed to be University) and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, New Chandigarh, Punjab.

 

3. The entrance examination will be conducted tentatively in the month of June 2026. The exam may be subjective or objective followed by the viva-voice/interview.

 

4. AGE LIMIT: 45Years. (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC & 10 years for Physically Handicapped). Further age relaxation will be considered for candidates serving in Government Institutes/Medical Colleges. Age & experience will be reckoned as on 31.07.2026.

 

5. Appointed candidates may be placed or rotated across HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh or HBCH, Sangrur as per the institutional requirements.

 

6. Selected Fellows may be provided sharing hostel accommodation on campus subject to availability and on payment basis. Hostel Charges will be deducted every month from stipend/salary which may vary from time to time as per institutional policy.

 

7. It is mandatory for selected fellows residing in hostel premises to avail In-house cafeteria/Mess facility on payment basis. Mess Charges worth Rs. 27000/- (for six months) (Non-Refundable) will be deducted in advance and subsequently monthly deduction (Rs. 4500/- per month) will be made from the stipend/salary. The mess charges may vary from time to time as per institutional policy.

 

8. An applicant must possess qualification that are recognized by National Medical Commission. It is mandatory for all those who are selected and appointed for Fellowship at HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh, Punjab to be registered with Punjab Medical Council.  

 

9. The candidates who are working under Central / State Government / Autonomous Body / Semi Government Organizations must upload their No Objection Certificate through The Head of their Institution. The candidate will be allowed to appear for the MCQ/interview only on production of original NOC.

 

10. Candidates shall pay the online application fee of Rs.1000/- by using Debit Card / Credit Card/ UPI. The application fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for the post and making payment of application Fee. Duplication of fees will not be refunded.

 

11. The Online application forms must be filled out completely in all respects. Incomplete applications will be rejected. 

 

12. If result awaited candidates apply for above post they should declare their degree passing on the day of MCQ/VIVA, who failed to submit will not be allowed to appear for MCQ/VIVA.

 

13. HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh, Punjab reserves the right to cancel the posts, fix minimum eligibility standard / bench mark and restrict no. of candidates called for MCQ/Interview considering various factors like no. of vacancies, performance of the candidate etc., and decided to determine the qualifying marks for selecting candidates for the interview. Merely fulfilling the prescribed qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be called for MCQ/Interview. The HBCB & RC, New Chandigarh, Punjab also reserves the right to fix minimum eligibility standard / cut-off marks (Group/Stream/Discipline/Category-wise etc.) while finalizing such candidates to be called for interview as well as selecting the candidates for final selection after the interview. The decision of the Director Principal, HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh, Punjab in this regard shall be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.  

 

14. 15. Candidates must submit documentary evidence in support of the details furnished in the Online Application Form regarding date of birth, qualifications, experience, caste, disability certificate, NOC etc., failing which such applications will be treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.

 

16. Separate application should be submitted for each post.

 

17. MCQ examination will only be conducted when number of applicants are more than three times than the number of posts advertised. However, there will be no MCQ test for the post against which less number of applications are received than the vacancies. Director Principal, HBCH & RC, New Chandigarh, Punjab will have the discretion to decide for which post MCQ examination to be conducted and for which post there will be no MCQ examination. The decision thereof will be final.

 

18. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the MCQ/Interview.

 

19. Application will be rejected if the candidates provides incorrect information in the application form. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

 

 

20. Fellows will undergo half-yearly assessments, and a final exit examination will be conducted at the end of the two-year term. Fellowship certification will only be issued upon successful completion and passing of the exit exam.

22. ENTRANCE EXAM/VIVA : Short listed candidates name  for MCQ/ VIVA will be uploadedon  our website (tmc.gov.in-examination/interview section). Candidates are advised to check the website regularly for any updated information related to the MCQ/VIVA.

CONSOLIDATED REMUNERATION/STIPEND: The selected fellows will be paid in accordance to the following table. The stipend may be revised as per the institutional policy from time to time:

FEES STRUCTURE: The HBNI Fellows have to pay the fees and dues to HBNI as per existing rules. The fees structure of fellows is as under:

On the day of joining fellows are required to pay Admission fees and Library Deposit of Rs.9,500/- (by using Debit / Credit Card) and enrollment fees of Rs.9,000/- should pay through online to HBNI University. Remaining amount of Rs. 2,15,000/- (Tuition, Appraisal, Exam and Convocation fees) will be deducted in 10 equal installments (Rs.21,500/-) from their Stipend. In case of Discontinuation / Resignation in between during Fellowship tenure, the fees collected till the date will be forfeited. On & above a fine of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs) + GST will be levied.
