MASTER OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (ONCOLOGY)
Course details
Two-years “Master of Occupational Therapy (Oncology)” is a post-graduate degree which will be awarded by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) Deemed to be University, under Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. The course will be conducted at the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and will be followed by a one-year mandatory Bond at the Tata Memorial Centre and its outreach centres. The course will commence from 1st August 2024.
Minimum eligibility criteria
Only Indian Nationals can apply.
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/BOTh with 50% marks). The bachelor’s degree program should be full time program, with minimum 4 ½ years duration (including 6 months of internship) from a university in India (recognized by UGC). Candidates who have passed BOT through correspondence or Distance Education program are not eligible.
Selection criteria
· Selection will be based on the evaluation of performance in written test followed by interview
· A fixed number of candidates (not exceeding 3 times the number of seats) will be called for the interview).

Application fees
· General & OBC candidates have to pay the Online Payment of Rs. 2000/- (two thousand only) & SC/ST/Physical Handicapped have to pay Rs.500/- by using Debit Card / Credit Card Online. This is non-refundable. [Duplication of application fees will not be refunded.]

process
· Interested candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria should complete the application form online as per instructions.
· Candidates are advised to save the completed application and print the document on one side of the paper only.
· The Hardcopy of application alongwith Copies of all relevant certificates and documents are required to bring at the time of Interview / Admission.
· Application will be rejected if the candidate provides incorrect/ false information in the application form. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Entrance exam
· Multiple choice questions.
· Syllabus for entrance exam is attached on the website
· Instruction for exam will be informed on the website : http://tmc.gov.in
· As much as possible entrance exam will be conducted in Mumbai centre.
· Based on the entrance exam marks, the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
Age limit
30 Years as on 31.05.2024 (Relaxable 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC).
Duration
2-years course + 1-year Bond (mandatory)
Annual Fees
College tuition fee will be charged Rs.50,000/- per year.
Stipend
First year: Rs.12000/- per month
Second year: Rs.15000/- per month
Third year (Mandatory Bond period): Rs.18000/- per month
Sponsored
National candidate sponsored from Cancer Centres / Hospitals within National Cancer Grid of India for training will not be paid any stipend nor undergo internship. Training fee of Rs.50,000/- will be charged per year
Accommodation
Facility
Selected candidates from outside Mumbai will be provided hostel accommodation on availability. Hostel charges @10% of the stipend will be deducted every month. Refundable deposit of Rs.5,000/- for hostel accommodation will have to be paid to avail this facility.
Cafeteria facility
Candidates who will be staying in Hostel will have to pay monthly charges to avail the cafeteria services as per the package opted for.
In addition to actual charges, refundable deposit of Rs.4000/- as diet deposit.
Library facility
Refundable deposit of Rs.5000/- for Library will have to be paid.
Medical Insurance
Selected students will be covered under Medical Insurance facility provided by the Institute on co-payment (20% of yearly premium) which is Mandatory.

Terms
· During the course, the student shall not apply for any post or any other courses / P.G. studies / Scholarship or appear for any examination or interview outside or if applied before start of the training, the candidate has to give proper information to this institution.
· Candidates leaving the course midway will have to repay the entire stipend amount and the total 2 years course fee with Penal Interest.
· All candidates must submit a certificate from Allopathy Medical Doctor confirming the health status (Physical & Mental) of the candidate.
· The decision of the Director – Tata Memorial Centre, shall be final and binding.
· Director TMC has rights to restrict the number of intake capacity based on the requirement of the institute.
