On behalf of Indian Brachytherapy Society and Department of Radiation Oncology, th Tata Memorial Hospital, it gives us immense pleasure to invite you to the 8 Annual Conference th of Indian Brachytherapy Society, IBSCON - 2018 scheduled between 10th and 12 August 2018 at Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai, India.
Brachytherapy being the most conformal and time tested form of Radiation therapy, has evolved in terms of applicators, imaging, software, QAtools etc in the recent past. We are also fortunate to be a witness to a high level evidence in Breast, prostate and cervical cancers in favor of brachytherapy. However, like unsung heroes there are many other sites where brachytherapy has shown promise but have not become popular. In order to rekindle and reckon brachytherapy in uncommon sites like nose &nasal cavity, neck nodes, pediatric cancers, sarcomas, etc. IBSCON 2018 has been dedicated to these sites with a theme of
“Brachytherapy in Uncommon Sites - How do I do it!”
. We will have experts who will share some meat in terms of practical tips and tricks to take back home.
IBSCON 2018 starts on 10 August with a pre-conference workshop in collaboration with AERB, on
“Patient safety, brachytherapy incidents-lessons learnt & regulations related to Brachytherapy in India”
. The next two days (11 and 12 August) of the conference will deal with brachytherapy in the above mentioned uncommon sites. Sessions will include video presentations, discussion on implementation issues, proffered paper presentations and presentation on Developments and Innovations for manufacturer's perspective.
We request the delegates to send abstracts related to the theme which will be discussed by experts in the form of posters and oral presentations. The best oral presentations (1st and 2nd) will be offered IBS National Travel Fellowships to motivate residents / junior faculty (< 3 years post MD) and develop interest & enhance their knowledge of Brachytherapy.
On behalf of Organizing Committee, we welcome you all to the financial, commercial, entertainment capital and hustling-bustling largest city which never sleeps! - AAMCHI MUMBAI!
